Deaf Services Center has implemented a new program called C-Print. This is a computer based "speech to print" transcription system used as a support service option for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. C-Print is most popular in the educational environment, however; can also be used in business meetings and seminars.
A typist called a C-Print captionist types the lecture or meeting content into a laptop computer. The typed information appears on the consumers laptop simultaneously, so the consumer can follow along during the class or meeting. These notes may then be e-mailed to the consumer for review purposes.
For more information about C-Print or to request C-Print services, please contact Bernie Rottkamp at 614-841-1991 or by e-mail to bernie@dsc.org.
