Community Services

Advocacy Services - Advocacy services are designed to assist Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and their families in becoming fully participating members of our community. DSC supports full inclusion for people who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in all community activities. Staff work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in understanding and pursuing their rights related to ADA legislation

ADA Technical Assistance - DSC provides assistance to organizations in finding cost effective means to meet their repsonsibilites under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Community Education - DSC provides sign language classes and one-on-one tutoring. DSC also maintains a list of companies, organizations and freelance instructors that provide ASL instruction.

DEMP - A DSC program funded by the City of columbus and purchases equipment tht help Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents make their homes accessible.

Information and Referral Services - DSC is considered a central resource of information on Deafness. DSC refers Deaf and Hard of Hearing people to appropriate services providers throughout central Ohio and Southeastern counties of Ohio.

Speakers Bureau - DSC provides presentations to help eduate the community on a wide range of topics related to Deafness.
