We are seeking camp counselors that have working experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth ages 8 to 16.

Camp counselors will receive free room, board and monetary compensation.
Interested individuals must be fluent in sign language. A strong interest for diversity among camp counselors.

      Our one of a kind six-day/five-night Deaf Adventure Camp 2007 took place during the week of July 29th to August 3rd with 62 campers between the ages of 8 to 15!! The annual camp was at Camp Kerns in Oregonia, Ohio hosted by two agencies, Deaf Services Center, Inc. (DSC) in Columbus and Communication Services for the Deaf of Family Service Foundation (CSD) in Dayton.

        The camp goal and objective is to help build and strengthen a child/teen’s self-esteem, self-confidence, opportunity to develop leadership skills, teamwork skills and a sense of 'can do anything but hear’!

        The camp provides traditional activities such as swimming, creeking, hiking, rafting, horseback riding, fishing, campfires and outward bound activities to challenge their leadership and teamwork skills through high and low ropes, rapelling, giant swing, tango, ground initiative group games. We also provided educational and art activities such as nature exploration through the camp’s nature center; tie-dye tee shirts, & craft making projects.
